The PPS supports the project TRANSAGRO - Swamp

After a long and rigorous process of evaluation and analysis by the National Steering Committee the project proposal TRANSAGRO-Moor "Creating a Community Enterprise Agro-transformation with Women of the Swamp." Has been selected to receive program funds Small Grants Fund for Global Environment PPS / GEF.
The Small Grants Program is an initiative funded by the Global Environment Facility, established with the aim of contributing to global environmental protection and improvement of human welfare, through technical and financial support to Community actions. Emerged as part of the commitments made by the international community in the Rio de Janeiro, to contribute to the fulfillment of various international conventions related to environment such as the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on Climate Change and the Convention to Combat Desertification and Drought, among others.
The project aims to TRANSAGRO Swamp provide a sustainable solution to the replacement of protective cultures and thus contribute to the reduction of land degradation, conservation of biodiversity and Cienaga rivers and Bahoruco, combined with strategically income generation.
