Hurricane Dean passes close: Guanaba.Net and the Civil Defense in action

On the afternoon of Saturday, August 16, 2007, Hurricane Dean was less than 100 km from the coast of Ciénega. Guanaba.Net and the Civil Defense joined efforts to keep the inhabitants of the municipality on the progress of the phenomenon and on preventive measures and precautions to take if the cyclone entered by the south coast of the island. Thank God the eye of the cycle look beyond and avoided major damage. Only a few wooden cottages in the beaches and Bahoruco Ciénega were affected. This is one of the notices spread:
