Soil Conservation Workshop

The 6 and 17 December 2007 had a Soil Conservation workshop facilitated by Mr. Elpidio Moreta. The first day of the workshop (the theoretical conserve soil) was explained to participants what are the treatments that harm the soil and how to use other ways to treat it possible to follow spreading without the application of chemicals and also to protect the harvest. A workshop like this not only consists of a theoretical, but also and not least, a practical part. This practice was held on the 17th December at the farm of Mr. Pastor Felix (one participant) in the fern on the hill of La Cienaga. Excitedly people climbed the hill in a truck and participated in the workshop given there. On the farm the participants learned how to measure barriers and how to plant the seeds of plants, not only to conserve soil, but also to have better development in the crop for the best use of space. All participants (men and women) took part in a very active part in this workshop and loved it.
