We participated in the Dominican Network Workshop on Rural Tourism (REDOTUR)

Juan Carlos Rubio, the new coordinator for our community project "Ecotourism Cienega-Bahoruco" I participate in the workshop of the Dominican Network of Rural Tourism (REDOTUR) that are developing day 21 and June 22 2007 in The Pumpkin, Jarabacoa.
This is his report ....
The workshop for the formation of the Dominican Network of Rural Tourism serealizó on Thursday 21 and Friday June 22, 2007 in The Gourds a community of Jarabacoa that this experience of implementing a rural tourism and therefore are part of this network. With the participation of 28 people representing 21 entities.
The purpose of this workshop was correct, evaluate and approve the final document for the formation of the REDOTUR, that the result of several previous workshops in Azua and in jail, and the election of the first Coordinating Board consisting of Chairman, vice-president , Treasurer, secretary and three vowels. It contains all the necessary schema for the formation of an entity as it wants to be the REDOTUR, objectives, vision, mission,
regulations, statutes and so on., that after being approved by the assembly will undergo a legal process.
One of the points is that to gain membership or initiatives that represent the institution must be incorporated as members Category 1 and / or in the process Cat.2, which makes Taiguey member in Category 1. Must be paid a fee by a letter of application for membership and an annual fee.
The REDOTUR intended to be an entity to perform a job, (as queLa Enriquillo Network at the regional level), at the national level with ecotourism initiatives (calls within the redotur as rural tourism) monitoring, training, promotion, representation and so on.
The methodology for the work was done in regional groups: Southwest, South Central, East and so on. Which reviewed step by step throughout the document and then discuss it in plenary.
The final part of the workshop was represented by the election of the Coordinating Board. For such purposes were established regulations for the election process and taking some items of genetic statutes. Defined the following parameters: The coordinating board is composed of seven members which must be equitably
distributed in the regions participating in the network, with the caveat that regions with more members in the REDOTUR will be those that have more representatives in the Coordinating Board. Participants in the five regions that have the largest number of members are in the Southwest 1st. And Northern Venue / Norcentral second, which was allocated to two representatives each, and other areas of a representative. The regions were responsible for the election of their representatives, who are institutions and then saw the election of the Coordinating Board for post office
among the seven selected institutions.
Of the southwest were selected from the Coordinating Board, in coordination
