Launching the project ACT! Ivate to establish the Alliance of telecentres in the Caribbean (ACT!)

Taiguey Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the project ACT! Ivate. The project ACT! Ivate aims to initially establish and maintain the bases and mechanisms the Alliance of telecentres in the Caribbean ((ACT!). The latter defined as a regional forum for exchange and OLLABORATION between telecentres in the Caribbean. It is a project initiated by the support of the program telecentre.org A joint initiative of the International Development Research Center (IDRC-Canada), The Department of Microsoft Corporation and Swiss Cooperation . The concept was defined in a process after first Telecentres Caribbean workshop, held in the Dominican Republic in July 2006 (see). During the workshop, some 70 operators / ace and telecentres and actors / actresses keys of 15 Caribbean countries, identified the main challenges faced its draft Community Telecentres, and what solutions were explored and joint actions could be done.
