[July 22, 2008] In a crowded event, which was supported by the Department of Computer Education, with the presence of / as teachers of different schools in the community, social organizations (Plan International) and representatives of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic, became the ceremony of educational software. The donor companies were represented by the President of Dominican RutaCaribe, Mr. Paulino Ogando, a specialist in e-learning and information technology for development. .
The donated software and educational tools will complement the programs of strategic use of ICT to develop Taiguey Foundation, the Center Guanaba.net and the Ministry of Education with the support of INDOTEL, Microsoft and other corporations, to contribute to the development of the community of La Cienega. Titles included in the donation are VERNET brand products and Riverdeep, covering various areas of knowledge, among which are: Values for Life, aimed at children and adolescents 4-12 years, Destination Math, Course 1 for learning mathematics in Grades K-3 of the Basic Level and Course IV for grades 6th, 7th and 8th, Destination Reading, learning English in children pre-school to 2nd grade of basic education.
Also included titles: Planet of the Verbs (5th to 8th Primary, Basic Level), Nora, Tu Amiga Computer (content integrated with the Technology for kids 4-12 years); Gotita Tales Ecological (areas Science and literature), Voyage to Bottom of the Sea (area of Language and Literature), I learn playing through the Story (area of Language and Literature), Exploring the Backpack, to improve techniques for studies, children from the 4th level of basic education and Series Gaby (Gaby and Magic Fishbowl, Gaby and new toys, Gaby and Mirror Wise), the area of Language and Literature. All are integrated educational materials are recommended for children aged 4 to 12 years.
After hearing a talk on the Computer as a Tool for Teaching, given by Mr. Paulino Ogando, Yacine Lords and Victoria Khelladi Apolinario, Taiguey Foundation and the Center Guanaba.net , welcomed the donation and urged those present to not wait for the exploitation of digital educational tools they receive, which are available at the Center Guanaba.net to use the educational community of La Cienega. The Regional Office of Education No.1 based in Barahona, which was represented by a technical committee that spearheaded the Mercedes Jimenez, also welcomed the donation and commended the Guanaba.net Center for its work for the educational community .
