Taiguey Foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit, incorporated in the Dominican Republic aims to promote, develop, assess, monitor and evaluate processes of social transformation at the community level, promoting participatory methodologies and the use of technologies appropriate (see by the way ... ). Greetings to The Swamp! In the past month has seen the blonde walking down the streets, or perhaps running? Well, I would like to formally introduce myself, my name Jacqueline Guerrero, or "Yaki." I live with Fefa, Galmy, Nanai and so on, across the river, in the "neighborhood Haiti". I am a Peace Corps volunteer in the United States and live two years in this community as "Cienagera" next to you.
Peace Corps is a government agency where volunteers work in developing countries to promote peace and friendship. There, more than 195,000 volunteers have served in 139 host countries to work on issues that range from disease education, environmental conservation, information, youth business. Taigüey Foundation, who coordinates the project CARISNET 2 to support the development of the Caribbean Community Virtual Actors / Actresses ICT (CIVIC) organizes from 11 to 14 November 2008 Civic 2.0 a regional event and multi-sectoral Technology Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for development and regional integration. The main component of the event is "Consultation CIVIC" that contribute to the development of a 2-3 year strategic plan of the CIVIC community to meet the challenges we have in the field of ICTs for development in the Caribbean (such as capacity for better public policy advocacy, better production of knowledge, enhanced project management TICpD, but regional cooperation projects, etc.) but will have two days before training seminar TICpD policy design, and a day management training of thematic channels of Web 2.0 (and moderation and facilitation of thematic subgroups). We report today from the headquarters of UNESCO, which has been selected for the project implementation we sent in February called "strategic ownership of multimedia technologies for non-formal education of youth at risk and producing content for the Web 2.0 community development Swamp "which aims to integrate / marginalized young people / community as the process of digital inclusion through the development and systematization of a process of informal education of youth at risk for the development of applications and content Web 2.0 that allow the use of technologies for development. Luis Carlos (aka Julio) is a professional, friendly and very cooperative, living touring the country giving repairing and maintaining office equipment. Out of solidarity with our community project Guanaba.Net, decided to come to volunteer and train our youth to basic maintenance of photocopier. This machine is of strategic importance because it is the only serving the entire municipality of Cienaga, avoiding the trip to Barahona to many people. Taigüey Foundation issued a call to participate in the collection, classification and quantification of trash in the community of the Swamp on Sunday September 21, 2008 in the event called Day Beach Cleanup with the participation of volunteer groups as ecotourism guides were community institutions such as the City Council and others. The "Gender, Agriculture and Rural Development in the Information Society" GenARDIS pre-selected our project proposal from the 230 it received. Of the 20 selected, 15 will be financed with about 7000 euro each. Our plans to develop multimedia materials for ICT training for women who run rural cooperatives. The Cooperative Group for the Development of La Cienega was formally established in the Agricultural Cooperative of Multiple Services and Development of La Ciénaga (COODECI) in the Constituent Assembly held on September in the local spring, the municipality of La Cienega. Coodeci be based organization to manage the activities of the two income generating projects (processing of fruit and community-based ecotourism) but can perform many other activities
(Such as savings and loans). This is a result of hard work of the Foundation team Taigüey carried out with financial support from the Social Fund of the Embassy of France, the Environment Fund of the United Nations (PPS) and the newly confirmed Intermaricana Foundation support ( FIA). A big applause to the group manager for his work and the Cienaga by taking 'up front!

On August 12, 2008, came Vasile Luca, Italian intern, to support the Community Ecotourism Project. Luca holds a BA in Political Economy with experience working in banks and formal credit mechanisms. The recently completed an MA in Development Economics and International Cooperation and will stay until November 15 and will participate in the formulation of the basis for the regulation of the Revolving Fund of the Foundation and the Network Taigüey Community Ecotourism Enriquillo (REDEC) . Hello, my name is Yesenia Saud, I am the new coordinator of projects and Ecotourism Transagro-Swamp Swamp. My academic background is in Clinical Psychology degree. I have training in Planning and Management of Ecotourism in Tropical and Sub Areas. Tropical Social Marketing Management, Rural Development and Tourism, Strategic Management of Community Development, Development and Implementation Workshop, among others.
