This Thursday Aug. 7, 2008 in connection with the disclosure of a series of studies on access and use of Information Technology and Communication (part of the XII Inter-Agency Meeting on National Statistical System) presented the results of the monograph "The Collective Access Centers (CAC) to ICTs driven from the state "who carried out the Taiguey Foundation. This paper aims to conduct a quantitative and qualitative picture of the Cultural Access Group (CACS, telecentres) driven and / or supported by the state: coverage, performance, uses, performance, weaknesses and best practices and lessons learned. In March, we traveled to Lima, Peru, to participate in a workshop organized by the Peruvian Center for Social Studies - CEPES to discuss and review the planning and goals of the project "Help Telecentre Operators".. This project seeks to develop skills of those responsible for the telecentres, strengthen them as actors in development and to promote working in a network. After the workshop decided to establish a collaboration between the project "Help Telecentre Operators of CEPES and the draft ACT! IVATE support the creation of the Caribbean Alliance ACT! driven by Foundation Taiguey. (Read more ...)

This day on March 13, Yacine Khelladi Executive Coordinator of the Foundation Taiguey, I present the draft of the Caribbean Alliance Telecentre ACT! Ivate to the participants of the first Conference of the network of telecentres in Jamaica (Jamaica Community Center Multimedia Conference) . The objective of the proposed Act! Ivate is to build and sustain the internal mechanisms of the Alliance of the Caribbean Community Telecentres (ACT!) That is seen as a regional framework for sharing and promoting collaboration between telecentres in the Caribbean. The Foundation Taiguey to get the support of several institutions to organize a workshop of the Regional Community Telecentres. The 3-day workshop held in Santo Domingo at 20-22 dated July 2006, about 30 actors of the Caribbean Community Telecenters, with the aim of structuring a regional framework for sharing, learning and collective action.
