Geographic Information System for community participation in planning
The project aims to contribute to the strengthening of participatory planning of municipal management in the municipality through The Swamp develop a "GIS" as a tool for participatory planning of the municipality of La Cienega. The project responds to needs expressed by the (a) Community s (a) s. The identification of needs and the general outlines of the project design have been developed and / or validated in meetings with the (old) EU (o) s which guarantees an identification with the project. The project will be implemented in partnership with community organizations, existing, established and recognized. The main partners we also have the municipal council (ing Francisco Moreta) at the prestigious national institution Citizenship , and the Office for National Statistics (NBS) . The project was co-funded by the Program for Transparency and Citizen Action (TAC) of USAID (U.S. $ 5000). News Section

This Sunday September 22, 2007, as the climax of the "putting the swamp in the Map" was held under the facilitation of Mr. Domingo Matias, an expert on municipal issues, the workshop "Participatory Municipal Planning and use of Maps" with The objective is to sensitize the participants on the concepts of Municipal Planning and processes for their operation and applications of GIS in the planning tool. The workshop was held at the City Library of The Swamp and was attended by 33 people representing various community organizations, aldermen, treasurer and employees of the City Council, representatives of FEDOMU, and Program of Transparency and Citizen Action. Community census was conducted in the framework of Project Setting The Swamp on the map to gather information to georeference. Putting the Census of La Cienega on the map was done by people in the community 7, 8 and 9 August, they visited every household in the town of La Cienaga and FUDECO wearing shirts with the campaign Fighting Corruption. The same was discussed questions in the census form and a trial was conducted census in which participants took to apply the questionnaire.
