This Sunday, September 22, 2007, as the climax of the "putting the Cienega on Map" was conducted with the facilitation of Mr. Domingo Matias, an expert on municipal issues, the workshop "Participatory Municipal Planning and use of Maps" with the objective awareness of the participants in the municipal planning concepts and processes for their operation and the uses of GIS in planning tool. The workshop was held at the City Library of The Swamp and was attended by 33 people representing various community organizations, aldermen, treasurer and employees of the City Council, representatives of FEDOMU, and of Transparency and Citizen Action. With facilitation Raul Ponce Geologist Department on the mapping of the National Statistics Office of the workshop data processing with the aim that the participants acquire basic knowledge sobe Geographic Information System (GIS) and Process Generation and Updating of Maps with ArcView software and the basic operation. Community census was conducted within the framework of the project by La Cienega on Map for gathering information to georeference. Putting the Census of La Cienega on the map was done by people in the community on 7, 8 and 9 August, they visited every household in the town of La Cienega and Fudeco wearing shirts with the campaign Fighting Corruption. With the aim of lifting with GPS of all dwellings, their location and references in order to make it easier for families next census to be implemented. Geroreferenciacion was concluded with the housing. This is done in the towns of La Cienaga (village, including Fudeco) Mil by Rudy Medina and Alejandro Guevara Diaz Oklan Happy Montilla. The workshop, aimed at the candidates / as a census-takers, was aimed to the participants manage the implementation of the census questionnaire. The same procedure was discussed questions in the census form and performs a census test in which participants took to apply the questionnaire. On Sunday 24 June, about 15 volunteers to pick up the data that will be in the Geographic Information System of the community, attended a workshop on use of GPS. A workshop was conducted with 25 people in the community to identify thematic areas geo referencing. This was identified about 10 indicators-areas and prioritized areas.

It also reports on the different modalities for the lifting of the information.

Grants Fund Program of Transparency and Citizen Action of USAID selected the project "The Swamp putting on Map" for financial support. The project aims to contribute to the strengthening of participatory planning of municipal management in the municipality through The Swamp Develop a "GIS" as a tool for participatory planning the municipality of La Cienega.
