Taiguey Foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit, incorporated in the Dominican Republic aims to encourage, develop, advise, monitor and evaluate social transformation processes at the community level, promoting participatory methodologies and the use of technology appropriate (see the way ... ). Announcing the opening activity of the Community Eco-tourism offer "Guan-Bahoruco Oriental Adventures" to be held on Friday 21 August. "GuanAventuras" is a community ecotourism initiative that combines the enhancement of the attractiveness of the area (mountains, beaches, spectacular panoramic views, rivers and waterfalls, popular traditions and knowledge), with the development of accommodation, food, hiking, crafts and guidance, all offered by the community. REPORT ON THE JAMAICA NETWORK CAPS (Jacana) NETWORKING WORKSHOP Kingston, Jamaica - July 30 2009. There Were Gathered The 27 workshop participants from 17 local Telecenters / CAP sites across the island. The Objectives of the workshop Was the networking activity to strength the CAP Among the operators / managers, Within the framework of the Jacan, in order to enable permanent peer to peer support, Dissemination of best practices, tools and resources, the sustainability and strength to Social Impact of the CAPS in the communities. It Was Organised by Jacan and ICT4DJamaica Taiguey Foundation and, in the framework of the ACT! IVATO project This Was Organised workshop thanks to the Financial support of telecentre.org to program is a joint venture of the International Development Research Centre (Canada) the Swiss Development Corporation and the Microsoft Corporation.

One afternoon in 2003, Vicky and two young graduates of a course of community leaders, sat with a group of community leaders / as, talking about how to take p'alante Swamp community. That day was concluded with the need both for ideas that once would generate income, protect the environment, develop entrepreneurship, management and organization, and the need to integrate women in the community in paid work to improve health and education. Today, after almost six years later, having made the project TRANSGAGRO and obtained the support of various organizations (PPS.pnud, FIA, Ibbi etc.) and implemented two years, the Cooperative of Women of Cienaga, COOpDECI, was present on 6 and 7 June in the FestiCafe 2009, scenario for the market the first hint of bitter orange marmalade and "In My Siembra", produced with the fruits of the shadow of the coffee of our hills. On Thursday April 16 held the first meeting / workshop of Collective Access Centres to ICTs Enriquillo Region in South facilities Youth Foundation, in Barahona under the coordination of the Technical Unit of the C omission National Information Society (CNSIC) of the Dominican Republic and the Foundation Taiguey. The meeting is part of the establishment of the National Network and the Commonwealth of Dominican Cacts , which seeks to enhance the sustainability and social impact of technology centers through joint capacity building, exchange of experiences, tools and best practices the managers and operators of the technology centers. The same was attended by 80 operators / managers as and / as Community Technology Centers (Cacts) INDOTEL promoted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth in the provinces of Pedernales, Bahoruco, Barahona and Independencia. Renowned artist Miguel Ramirez facilitated a workshop on Creative eDestrezas Ornato Environmental Protection and Urban Beautification Swamp 3 to April 6, 2009. This was part of the community ecotourism project and also to sensitize the community on environmental issues aimed at developing the creative abilities of children & beautify it: here's the count who writes Miguel .... : Any creative expression is a unique experience, revelatory and transcendent of the ordinary, unique adventure, unparalleled wonder .... Each group of children will know and íntegramentesu s express spontaneity and imagination with wonder, the playing experience of handling materials and communicate ideas, almost always exceed the expectations and proposals made in each workshop. The "Center of Excellence for the sustainability and social impact of technology centers in the South West" will seek to capitalize, with operator training programs / as technology centers and networks of mutual support, the major investment made by public and private initiatives that have been installed in many schools throughout the region access to technology and thus contribute to sustainable development of communities in the southwest of the Dominican Republic. Taking advantage of the area Cochy Garcia recognized professional artisan from Peru who came to teach the craft workshop project Bahoruco Larimar, the Foundation organized a workshop Taiguey induction to design the project group between the two craft and March 12, 2009. Today we received the visit of IIBI technical team, led by Dr. Lucia Berigüete, responsible for Food Innovation Institute for Biotechnology and Industry (IIBI), to discuss the process spent in preparing jams and start planning Technology Transfer.

Atra mine! The work is one result of the "Bringing Congress to the Southwest through art" which aims to raise awareness and promote reflection on the part as community, municipalities and municipal districts of the province of Barahona, in the leading role and pro-active citizenship in the monitoring and control of public management and the work of Congress. Taiguey Produced by the Foundation, under the direction of Miguel Ramirez, with performances by Vicente Santos, Victoria and Manuel Apolinario Raposo. Written by Carlos Castro and contributions from Vicky Apolinario and Miguel Ramirez, with a language and cultural references adapted to the target audience (rural and semi-urban areas of south west)

Teacher training in the use of Information Technology and Communication (ICT), supported by constructivist learning process was present in the course developed by the Foundation Taiguey Community Technology Center in the Community Guanaba.net The Cienaga, Barahona Province. This initiative had the support and collaboration of the Department of Computer Education of the Ministry of Education (SEE) and the regional education authorities and District of the Province, was developed through an action research process accompanied by Paulino Ogando, a specialist in distance education and information technology for development. On Monday November 17th was held the workshop "Sustainability Initiatives Collective Access to ICTs in the Dominican Republic in order to" analyze and share among the various governmental and nongovernmental organizations in the Dominican Republic to promote access initiatives ICT collective lessons learned, best practices, work methods, resources used, the impact of these initiatives in the communities and the challenges to ensure sustainability of these initiatives and increase their social impact in developing human communities and their inhabitants.
