The project starts with a survey to
identify and map the Caribbean Telecenters initiatives and key
actors. Through a questionnaire it will also collect basic information
on the challenges, issues and lessons from the existing initiatives.
That information will be analysed and systematized. This survey
will also be the key tool to identify participants and complete
the draft agenda
Then
workshop participants, and some other key actors, will the be invited
to develop a short online discussion to comment and complete the
findings of the survey, and to validate the content and issues to
be discussed at the workshop.
· The
workshop will be centred on the facilitated working-group discussions
that are introduced by plenary presentations (as dynamic as possible,
multimedia).
· Each
day will have its own objectives:
§ Day
1: Identifying common needs and priorities of the Caribbean Community
Telecenters,
§ Day
2: What can be addressed collectively and regionally?
§ Day
3: And how we organize. Follow up Commitments.
· Facilitation
team will be working permanently, with a professional leader, preparing
next sessions from previous working groups outputs.
Will be organised, in parallel, a working session of with the members
of the supporting agencies (donors as EU, UAISD, IRDC/ICA, CIDA,
etc., multilateral banks as WB, IDB, and organisations, UNDP, ITU,
Universal Funds and businesses) to exchange information on their
current and projected support to telecentres initiatives.

workshop is viewed as a starting point for the articulation and
exchange of the Telecentres initiatives in the Region in
order to better sustain and support their work and impacts in
the communities,
